WERKSPOORFABRIEK

The Werkspoorkwartier was an inaccessible industrial area for a long time, but is slowly being transformed into a creative, cultural workplace. The Werkspoorkathedraal was converted some time ago into space for small companies and events, but now the adjacent Werkspoorfabriek is also being transformed. In the Werkspoorfabriek, Respace is realizing more than 3000m2 of office space with the box-in-box concept that was developed within Sustainer Homes.

The Werkspoorfabriek is a special place. The façades with old bricks, the typical shape of the 175-meter-long hall and the yellow crane tracks show Werkspoor's industrial past. The new design handles these aspects with respect where at the inside we used the Respace building system to offer a new kind of space for a new era. A wooden village for small businesses and a brewery. All wooden elements are self-enigneerded and CNC-milled, the whole design comes as a big assembly package and is fully demountable and circular!
